This module, from Cardiff University, aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills that are required to be able to evidence the competencies required for the ‘Special Interest’ title within their profession. It also is appropriate for community and primary health care professionals who want to advance their pain knowledge.
A stand alone 20 credit module for GPs and Pharmacists with a special interest in pain and primary and community health care professionals will be available for entry on the following two occasions in the 2011/12 academic year.
While the course was initially designed for Pharmacists and GPs with a special interest in pain in accordance with the Department of Health document, we welcome applicants from any health care profession who wish to extend their knowledge of pain management in primary care. We have a multi-professional, primary care based faculty to support other professionals.
It is an e-learning module with an integrated method of teaching and a range of different media to present key knowledge.
Students will access the modules through the medium of Learning Central which is Cardiff University’s Virtual Learning Environment (or VLE) which delivers the course materials. This is accessible via all forms of computer (desktop / laptop / tablet), smart phones and ipads; via a dedicated Learning Central application (downloadable from the Apple App. Store).
